Everything in NYTE City has a price. That's not philosophy — it's the operating principle of the place. This is the only equipment chapter in the book, and it covers everything: Weapons, Armor, Cybernetics, Equipment, and Vehicles.

The economy: Çredits, Skrip, and the TAG

NYTE City runs on two currencies at once. Çredits (Ç) are the digital, tracked currency of the legitimate economy — corporate payroll, licensed vendors, anything that runs through the LINK. Skrip ($) is untraceable physical currency, at rough parity with Çredits, and the preferred medium for anyone conducting business they'd rather not see logged.

Every resident carries a TAG — a Trusted Authentication Gateway, the government-issued digital identity behind the city's Universal Basic Income. It comes with a tradeoff: the city always knows where a TAG is. Going TAGless means privacy, at the cost of the UBI and life entirely inside the skrip economy.

ClassMonthly IncomeWhat that buys
Underclass625Ç (UBI)A coffin box, fast food, and not much else
Working2,500ÇRent, food, transport — the basics, covered
Middle5,000ÇComfort, discretionary spending, some savings
Upper12,500ÇLuxury, investment, significant purchasing power
Hyper25,000ÇWhatever they want

Weapons

Handguns and SMGs up through Rifles, Heavy Weapons, Melee, and Martial Arts weapons, each with its own feel at the table — plus ammunition types and mods like Silencers, Scopes, and SMART Link targeting for the operators who want to fine-tune their loadout.

Armor

Armor is a trade-off between what you can afford, what you can carry, and what you expect to be hit with. A denim vest is cheap, easy to conceal, and does what it can; a full suit of hardened plate stops far more, at the cost of subtlety, weight, and price. Every piece wears down under fire and needs upkeep to stay reliable.

Vehicles

Vehicles fall into two categories: Grounders (wheeled or hover-based surface transport) and Jumpers (aerial vehicles working the city's vertical traffic grid). Everything from a scavenged Crotchrocket to military-grade hardware most people will never get their hands on.

Cybernetics

Chips, mods, implants, and the other modifications you can make to your body — referenced throughout this chapter (a SMART Link neural interface, a Cybernetics Maintenance Kit for field repairs) but detailed in full in its own Cybernetics chapter, still being written.
